No one pressed alarm as three men robbed a bank

Three bank robbers posing as construction workers circled the area near the Banesco Bank on Calle 50 for 45 minutes on Saturday before overpowering the unarmed security guard and nobody pressed the alarm said the Minister of Public Security, Juan Manuel Pino on Wednesday, September 7.

He said that if the bank had used the emergency button, the reaction time would have been “immediate” as lynx Police agents are displaced in the banking sectors to precisely attend to these cases.

“There was never that alarm, the security agent was unarmed, all these things that go against the security of a bank have to be reviewed,” he added.

At about 9:00 a.m., on Saturday the three men,  subdued the bank security and took a cash register. They also stole belongings from customers who were inside. Investigations continue.
