No dialogue as thousands join protest marches
The dialogue agreed between representatives of the administration of President Laurentino Cortizo and the members of the National Alliance for the Rights of the Organized People (Anadepo) did not take place on the afternoon of this Tuesday, July 12, at the Coopeve convention center, in the city from Santiago de Veraguas.
According to Luis Arturo Sánchez, leader of the Association of Veragüenses Educators and spokesperson for Anadepo, they waited all day ” for an approach from the National Government to continue with the dialogue, but it has not happened.”
Meanwhile, thousands of people from all walks of life including teachers, doctors, university students, construction workers transport drivers, and taxis took part in demonstrations across the country. The largest was in the capital city where hundreds marched from Parque Porras to Cinco de Mayo near the National Assembly.
