Tocumen International traffic continues to expand

 

Tocumen International Airport increased the mobilization of passengers during the month of March to 1,248,428, up 729,316 compared to the same period in 2021.

Of the total number of passengers served at the airport terminals, 75% were connecting passengers.

Raffoul Arab, General Manager of the Airport, stated that they have made significant progress in the recovery plan. “Although the pandemic persists, we are confident that entry controls will continue to be relaxed at the regional level and the industry, in general, will continue to approach 2019 levels.

During the month of March, the air terminal maintained direct connections to 77 destinations through 20 airlines. The largest movement of passengers recorded in the period is that of South America with 46%, North America with 30%, the Caribbean with 10%, Central America with 10%, and Europe with 5%.  The Cargo Terminal moved 21,405 metric tons of merchandise.

Domestic passenger traffic and charter flights from Canada operated at the regional terminals managed by Tocumen International registered a total of 20,528 travelers and 2,054 aircraft operations in March.

In the first four months of the year, Terminal 2 will start operations in its entirety, and the Panama Pacific Terminal will be reopened for low-cost airlines.
