CNN president resigns after affair revelations

AFP – The president of CNN, Jeff Zucker, announced his immediate resignation on Wednesday, February 2 for not having revealed a romantic relationship with a colleague in the American television network.

“I certainly wish my tenure here had ended differently,” Zucker said in a message to CNN employees. “But my career (on the network) was something incredible. And I enjoyed every minute.”

Zucker, 56, said his resignation is immediate.

At the head of the global network since 2013, he was one of the most powerful media executives in the United States.

In the investigation of a network presenter “I was asked about a consensual relationship with my closest colleague, someone with whom I have worked for more than 20 years,” he said in his message.

“I admitted that the relationship has evolved in recent years,” he said. “They asked me to reveal when it started but I didn’t. I was wrong”
