Half of US adults get covid vaccination

AFP – Half of the adults in the United States will have completed their covid-19 vaccination schedule by Tuesday, the White House reported.

More than 60% of adults – about 160 million people – have received at least one dose of one of the three vaccines authorized in the country.

After a slow start in late 2020, the mass vaccination campaign was accelerated by the administration of President Joe Biden.

The president set the goal that 70% of adults in the United States will have received at least one dose before the national holiday of July 4, but the vaccination campaign has slowed down as it seeks to reach the most skeptical or indifferent.
