Declining covid infections, deaths
While Panama passed the 6,000 covid-19 death toll mark on Monday, March 15, new infections (286) and deaths (9) continue, to decline .and the fatality remains at 1.7%.
There are 781 hospitalized patients 683 in wards and 98 are in ICU.
Ater having registered a peak of 55,000 cases at the beginning of the year, Panama currently reports 6,000 cases weekly nationwide.
The epidemiologist Arturo Rebollón indicates that the probability of finding cases of COVID-19 is increasingly difficult in the country. However, there is still community circulation of the virus and additional actions must be taken.
