Aguadulce dry law with tough sanction options
The Municipality of Aguadulce has created a dry law for the entire district, due to the high number of covid-19 cases registered in the last week.
The measure will take effect from 6:00 pm Monday, December 7, and will run until Monday, December 21.
“The infections have been registered by the agglomeration of people who ignore the call for attention to prevent the disease, while the intensive care room for covid patients of the Regional Hospital, Dr. Rafael Estévez, has already collapsed and this is not we can overlook it, ”said Jorge Herrera, mayor of Aguadulce.
Herrera emphasized that “the house where liquor is sold” will be sanctioned and those who do not have the resources “will go to provide services to the municipal sanitary landfill.”
The fines for non-compliance with the dry law range from $500.00 to $1000.00.
OnWednesday, December 2, the Municipality of Aguadulce established an extended curfew for the entire Aguadulce district, Coclé province, from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am and will run until Tuesday, December 15.
