OPINION: Justice in the shade
The Attorney General of the Nation, since his appointment, has led us to believe that his independence in the exercise of his functions is guaranteed. But he has been cheating on us. He has surrounded himself with people who have never disguised their affection for a former official, the target of multiple corruption investigations by the institution that the Attorney himself directs.
So what message does send to the prosecutors? Does he think his appointments make him look more independent? Just as he assures us that his position must be carried out with absolute independence, in the same way, we remind him that he is not.
His explanations about the appointment of his assistant – an outspoken supporter of the aforementioned character – is to slap us, is to disrespect the trust placed in him. He tells us that over justice prevail interests that he protects in the shade – LA PRENSA, June 10
