Over 39,000 detained for flouting quarantine
Until Saturday, May 30, the National Police units had detained a total of 38,860 and counting people in the country who violated the quarantine imposed as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, detected at the beginning of last March.
According to statistical figures from the Police, from March 18 to May 29 of this year, 36,692 of the detainees were male, while 5,996 were female and 2,168 were minors.
Until April 27, some 662 drivers had been penalized for traveling outside their driving hours, of which 559 were driving private vehicles and 103 taxis.
The circulation by schedules for people and private vehicles will be ineffective from June 1 when the quarantine is lifted and a 7:00 pm to 5:00 am curfew will be in force It will no longer be necessary to carry a safe-conduct pass during the day.
