Gender violence complaint against ruling party deputy
A new complaint for alleged gender violence was filed against PRD deputy Jairo ‘Bolota’ Salazar in the Supreme Court on Monday, May 11, by deputy Kayra Harding
Guillermina McDonald, from Harding’s legal team, said that the complaint is related to events on April 21 when Harding was struck by a water bottle during a caucus meeting. McDonald said that the complaint provides elements of conviction, including a medical report from the doctor from the National Assembly who attended her. and documentation about her care with a psychiatrist after the events
Harding’s legal team does not rule out requesting a more severe precautionary measure apart from the restraining order issued by the fiscal magistrate Olmedo Arrocha, who handled the first complaint filed against Salazar.
Deputy Harding said that she will continue with the judicial issue because a crime has been committed.
She said that he has had meetings with the secretary-general of the Democratic Revolutionary Party, Pedro Miguel González, and another with the party’s prosecutor regarding a political process for the events between the two deputies.
