Panama steps up coronavirus surveillance as students return from China

The Ministry of Health (Minsa) announced, on  Sunday, February 2, that they have intensified epidemiological surveillance due to the outbreak of coronavirus or 2019-nCoV and continues the monitoring of 288 people who have entered the country from affected areas.

 

Minister of Health, Rosario Turner,  at a Sunday press conference said that the 12 students who arrived in the country will be quarantined for 14 days –

the incubation period of the virus.  The same will happen with other citizens who come from cities in China with high contagion of the new virus.

Rosario reiterated that in Panama she has not registered any case of this disease, at the moment.
