Neighbors rescue 7 crash victims waiting 30 mins for ambulances
Seven people, including three schoolteachers traveling in one vehicle, were hospitalized with severe injuries after a head-on crash on the Transistmica at Lajas de Las Cumbres, in North Panama on Wednesday night November 27.
Local residents struggled to extract the injured from the wreckage as ambulance services took 30 minutes to respond.
Excessive speed by one of the vehicles is presumed to be the cause of the severity of the damage.
Five ambulances of Sume 911 the emergency service of and other dependencies transferred the victims to the San Miguel Arcángel and other hospitals.
