Panama banking center assets increase $4.237 billion
The assets of Panama’s international banking center reached $121.579 billion in July, an increase of $4.237 billion or 3.6% compared to the same time of the previous year, reports the Superintendency of Banks.
If only banks with local operations, which make up the national banking system, are analyzed, the assets total $104.039 million equivalent to a growth of 4.4%.
The increase follows the $ 2 billion debt issuance made by the current Government in international markets, which is reflected in the books of the National Bank of Panama, the banking regulator said.
