Ton of cocaine seized in mangrove grove
Panama’s National Aeronaval Service (Senan) seized a ton of cocaine in 1,998 packages on the coast of the Tonosí Valley, in Los Santos on Saturday, September 1.
Enso Castillo, head of the fourth region of the Senan, said they located three stashes in underground caves in a mangrove area at the mouth of the Tonosí River, near Bucaro and five kilometers from Puerto Vapor.
So far this year, the security body has seized about 29 tons of drugs, mainly cocaine, in 50 operations on the Caribbean and Pacific coasts.
The lastest seizure came a day after 26 tons of drugs were incinerated in one of the largest destruction operations in recent years
