41 hurt,12 hospitalized in bus crash
At least 12 people were still in hospital on Wednesday, March 6, following an accident that injured at least 41 the previous afternoon when the bus carrying them from a religious retreat overturned on a mountainous road leading to San Roquito, in the Olá district of Coclé.
“The 12 hospitalized will probably be discharged soon,” said Deputy Health Minister of Health Eric Ulloa.
The Joint Task Force (FTC) reported that the 46 passengers, mostly teenagers, were returning from a spiritual retreat in San Roquito when the Caterpillar-type bus lost its brakes on the Piedra Raja hill fell into a ravine and overturned. Among the injured were five adults. The rest were minors, aged from 10 to 17 years.
The young people are residents of Santa Ana, Torrijos Carter and Chilibre; they participated in the spiritual retreat organized by the Temple Channel of Blessings of Paradise, Ancon, of the Churches of God of the Complete Gospel.
