OPINION: World Youth Day citizen fog
The World Youth Day (WYD) is an event to which the current government has dedicated an important effort of organization and logistics, which given the scale of the number of participants, also demands that we Panamanians be adequately informed. A little more than a month before WYD, families, companies and an important part of the different social and economic sectors of the country do not know if the dates of January 23 to 27 will be free, or if they will have a special day. Parents need to organize themselves to care for their children or purchase food. The ordinary Panamanians must know the rules of security and the functioning of basic services such as transport, social security or banking. There are too many unknowns that need to be clarified as soon as possible so that Panamanians can be the cordial and hospitable hosts of WYD, and of the previous events in Penonomé and Chitré. It is time for the National Government to define the parameters of work and activities for this date, and to communicate them to the entire population in a responsible manner. Improvising would be a slight for our guests –LA PRENSA, Dec. 19
