OPINION: Black stain on judges record

The former president with the most accusations of corruption in our history has used tricks to try to pressure public servants and pay, not only for services, but also for the complicity of unscrupulous professionals who have resorted to all kinds of tricks to victimize, and  confuse the population and avoid a sentence in law. In different phases of the process, as well as stripped those whose honor has a price, emerged figures who gave hope and optimism, thanks to their knowledge of the criminal system and the firmness with which they responded to the demands and traps of the defense.

Sadly, the enthusiasm has been extinguished as time passes, without anything happening. The most recent blow to confidence has been given by the ruling of magistrate Oydén Ortega, that would pass the jurisdiction of the Martinelli case to an ordinary court of the accusatory criminal system. Ortega’s position is absolutely incongruous with respect to his previous actions, which has aroused suspicion among those who follow the case. The magistrate must know that, if this is the last line he writes as a judge, it will be a black stain that will seal his departure from the Supreme Court of Justice. – LA PRENSA Nov.14
