Panama hosts world climate change, biodiversity conference
OVER 1,000 experts from the Mesoamerican countries, Spain and the United States will meet in Panama November 21 -25 analyze the loss of habitat, climate change and the challenges posed to combat and mitigate its effects.
At the XXII Congress of the Mesoamerican Society for Biology and Conservation (SMBC), 17 themes will be addressed that revolve around global change, biodiversity management and socio-economic aspects of biodiversity and conservation.
speakers from Argentina, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, United States, Spain, and Mexico, will address the delegates who will be participating in over 30 symposiums, and workshops.
The Mesoamerican biological corridor: challenges of cooperation for conservation; the integration of biodiversity in productive landscapes: progress and challenges; and biodiversity at risk: when scientists need journalists are some of the central themes of the international gathering.
