Ex-Minister chosen PRD presidential candidate

Laurentino Nito Cortizo, former Minister of Agricultural Development, during the  Martin Torrijos administration will be the presidential candidate for the  Democratic Revolutionary Party (PRD,) Panama’s largest political) party in the May 2019 election.

He  won the nomination on Sunday, September 16,  at the PRD presidential primaries Cortizo prevailed over his closest adversaries, the Deputy Zulay Rodríguez and ex-president Ernesto Pérez Balladares
