Panama named 25th most expensive city
Panama’s capital city is ranked number 25 among the 77 most expensive cities in the world, 21 if you exclude rents putting it above cities such as Frankfurt, Vienna, Dubai, Toronto and Madrid, which knocks on the head low cost of living claims by promoters using 16-year old figures.
Meanwhile, the World Bank ranked s the country the sixth most unequal in the world in 2016, surpassed only by South Africa, Haiti, Honduras, Colombia, and Brazil, based on the Gini coefficient.
Panama city’s expensive ranking is extracted from the benchmark index of the Union of Swiss Banks (UBS) which places Zurich (Switzerland) in first place of the most costly cities
In its report, the UBS said that Panama, within the list of the most expensive cities in the world, has a peculiarity; strange but true: ‘Panama is the only place in the world where you can see the sun rise in the Pacific and set in the Atlantic”
