Two guilty in student slaying face 30-years behind bars
AN EIGHT- PERSON jury took just two and a half hours on Friday, August 18 to find the former boyfriend of university student Aira Isabel Guerra and his uncle guilty of her brutal murder.
Prosecutor Emeldo Márquez has called for a 30-year jail term for Rolando Samudio and his uncle, Álvaro Samudio
The killing took place on November 30, 2012, in the province of Chiriqui.
According to expert evidence and witnesses on Friday, November 30, 2012, the 18-year- old student left the Universidad Latina, where she was studying law, with her boyfriend Rolando Samudio, after 8:00 p.m.
Her body was found in Boquerón, near the road leading to Cerro Colorado.
Forensic investigations revealed. That she died of a sharp cut to the clavicle, in addition, she had injuries to her body, skull, and hands.
Aira Isabel Guerra Serracín, the mother of the murdered girl, said: “I have waited more than five years for justice to be done for the death of my daughter.”
