OPINION: Political cynicism or crime?
As expected, the legislative pact between the Revolutionary Party (PRD) Democrático and
Cambio Democrático (CD)re-elected deputy Yanibel Ábrego as President of the National Assembly. In her speech, the new president displayed a high caliber of cynicism when she stressed her vocation in favor of transparency and exclaimed to the four winds that she was not opposed to deputies being audited.
More credibility would have been given to her words if she had ordered, at that precise moment, the publication of all the forms of her colleagues, starting with her own. However, her actions give indications that she will do everything possible to prevent the comptroller from doing his job. Her insistence on suspending the forms needed by the Comptroller is the last test of her impudence But this is not all. The citizens must also be alert to any attempt of manipulation by this alliance in the case of Ricardo Martinelli or anything which involves her old and new friends. .. To paraphrase the deputy’s speech: We cannot allow crime to run the State’s agenda. LA PRENSA, JULY 2
