Jailed Martinelli asks maid service, TV, and home comforts

Former President Ricardo Martinelli, who spent a year less a day in a sparse cell in a US detention center, has added maid service to his list of requests for goodies to ease his stay in his El Renacer  Prison residence. pleasures not granted to regular prisoners.

One of his lawyers, Yolanda Polo, who usually appears with Martinelli at hearings in the Supreme Court  on June 21  – asked permission, as a matter of urgency, to introduce several articles to the prison, that would add to others that the ex-ruler has already received, such as the microwave whose arrival at El Renacer  was televised reports La Prensa.

Martinelli requested a tank to store more water than he has now, that he would “donate” when he leaves the prison. He also asked for a water heater, a 45-inch TV for the paid programming of the cable service, which he has requested.

His latest extravagant request says La Prensa is a maid, for cleaning every day, for two hours.

The request, says Polo, is based on the Regulation of the Penitentiary System, covering visits of the inmates.

The article refers to  regular, conjugal and family visits, as well as lawyers, Officials of the Judicial Organ, Public Defender, Public Ministry, priests, diplomatic representatives, diplomats, Ombudsman and “professionals called by the inmate.”
