Panama wants migrant families reunited

Panama demands  immigrant family  reunification

Panama has joined the international outcry    against  the policy adopted by the United States to separate families of migrants after last Friday the government of Donald Trump reported that between April 19 and on May 31 almost 2,000 children were separated from their parents, and by June 19 it had climbed to over  2,300

“The Government of the Republic of Panama expresses its concern about the situation that families of Central American women are being separated by their status as migrants in the United States, leaving children and adolescents helpless, ” says the statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

It also calls on the US to “address the migratory situation in an integral manner, with actions that guarantee the family reunification of those who are being affected, and the strictest respect for the rights of the families, and especially children and adolescents.”

The separation program has been condemned by the UN and world leaders including Pope Francis, the UK, and Canada
