Houses collapse, 100 homes hurt by rains
Three homes collapsed and at least 77 houses and 24 apartments suffered damage from heavy rains that fell on the afternoon of Tuesday, June 19 in various sectors of Panama city.
Hardest hit were Juan Díaz, Parque Lefevre, Las Cumbres, Pacora, RíoAbajo , Panama Viejo and Las Acacias.
The National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc) reports that some 352 people were affected after their homes were hit by the overflow of the River Palomo due to sewer obstruction, falling trees, and some structural collapses.
Sectors 4 and 5 of Samaria were the sites with the most damage, including a pedestrian bridge In the same sector, two houses totally collapsed and three people were relocated in family homes.
