Panama child homicide rates ranked 10 in Latin America
PANAMA sits in 10th position in Latin America on a list of child homicide rates published by the UN Save the Children’s Fund.
A total of 12 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, including Panama, are included in a list released May 30.
The report, which evaluates 175 countries, reveals that Panama has a child homicide rate of 10.8 per 100,000 inhabitants, due to gang violence that originates in the streets and reaches homes and schools.
The highest rates are concentrated in Latin America and the Caribbean. where there are rates of up to 28.9. with Honduras, Venezuela, Colombia, El Salvador and Brazil topping the list.
