Cops block presidential candidate sign-up bid
Law professor and independent presidential candidate Miguel Antonio Bernal has denounced a group of police officers who tried to stop him collecting signatures to support his candidacy, at the Los Andes shopping center on Saturday, June 16.
“It was an unnecessary incident since about 10 police officers prevented me from continuing with the process of collecting signatures of citizens, “said Bernal.
According to the lawyer, the policemen alleged that his activity was preventing free transit through the mall.
However, Bernal told La Prensa that he had all the necessary permits from the mall administration.
