Cereal recall follows samonella alert

Panama’s  Food Safety Authority (AUPSA)  has ordered the immediate removal of   Kellogg Honey Smacks  15.3 oz packs from retail shelves.

The move follows an alert from the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) that the Kellogg Company announced the voluntary recall of certain cereal production in its 15.3 oz. and 23 Oz., packs for the possible presence of Salmonella bacteria.

Aupsa announced on Friday, June 15 that it had contacted the importing agents and operations are being carried out for their immediate withdrawal from the market.

The FDA statement emphasized that no other product of the Kellogg brand is impacted by the recall. The affected products were distributed in the United States and had a limited distribution outside that country.

Aupsa urged the population to keep informed through their website (www.aupsa.gob.pa), Twitter and Facebook, to clarify any information regarding imported foods.
