Holiday blues when departure wait exceeds flying time

AS PANAMA  prepared to celebrate its  Independence Day and 114 years of Republican history, thousands of residents headed to Tocumen International Airport from early morning on Thursday, November 2, to take advantage of a weekend stretched by two national holidays and The Day of the Dead.

They were warned to arrive at least three hours ahead of their scheduled take-off time, and for many, the waiting time was longer than the flight.

In addition to flights within the country, the favored destinations were Punta Cana, in the Dominion Republic,  (flight time 2 hours,40 minutes)The United States, Mexico and Colombia.
