9 high profile criminals captured in Panama
NINE high profile criminals sought by Interpol have been captured in Panama, said Public Security, Minister Alexis Bethancourt, during a Friday, Oct. 13 press conference.
Among the charges they are facing in their home countries are: kidnapping, extortion, homicide, drug trafficking, money laundering, embezzlement and improper exercise of public functions
Three are Colombians, one Mexican, one Cuban, one Ukrainian, one Russian, one Czech and an American.
Among the “criminals” is the Colombian Dumar Alejandro Quintero Otalvaro and the former governor of Quintana Mexico, Roberto Borges.
Bethancourt said they were captured by the National Police, with the help of Interpol intelligence and, the collaboration of the Public Ministry.
Meanwhile, there is a list outstanding of high profile Panamanians facing Interpol Red Alerts including ex-president Ricardo Martinelli’s two sons, his former personal secretary and close business associates.
