Grounded ship closes Corredor
A VESSEL driven by high winds and waves ran aground near the Corredor Sur on Friday afternoon leading to the suspension of traffic until the ship could be removed by tugs.
The Panamanian Maritime Authority (AMP) AMP reported that the ship had problems with the mooring, a situation that is normal at times where the weather is not favorable. Previously, the AMP had warned about bad weather in the Panama Bay area and issued recommendations for small and large shippers
Meanwhile, the AMP extended the suspension of traffic for smaller vessels, with outboard motors a further 12 hours for the Gulf of Panama, the Gulf and coastal areas of-of Chiriquí and the southern coast of Veraguas.
