Ministry seeks dialogue as pilot strike looms
WITH THE question of whether Panama’s flagship airline will be flying next week still unanswered The Ministry of Labor has called for dialogue between Copa Airlines and its pilots.

The pilots have announced that they rejected
two economic proposals presented by the airline. The
contract would be valid through 2021.
The Ministry called on the parties to “put aside their
interests for the good of the country” and to engage in dialogue to reach consensus.
After the pilots rejected their proposals, Copa Airlines reiterated its position to continue negotiating to avoid the strike.
On Monday, June 12, Unpac handed over a petition signed by 1,000 pilots supporting a strike.
