Varela apologizes for Christmas Fairs chaos
PRESIDENT, Juan Carlos Varela, apologized on Wednesday, Dec 14, for the lack of organization at the Christmas food fairs earlier in the day and said that the logistics will be improved
Faced with the incidents that occurred in the day when police hasd to deal with near riots from people who had lined up throughout the night to get a $8 ham,, Varela asked
the population to accept his apologies , while promising that Entities such as the Agricultural Marketing Institute (IMA) and the Ministry of gricultural Development (MIDA) will take action on the matter.
Varela justified the confusion because that it was the first fair held by the IMA on a weekday as they always take place on Saturdays. He , asked the population for patience.
Agents of the National Police were in the fairs installed in San Miguelito, La Chorrera, Chilibre and Nuevo Tocumen, to maintain order.
According to the IMA, the NaviFerias will be from Tuesday to Saturday during the month of December, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
