Go-ahead for $250 million Pacora free zone

 

A FREE TRADE zone in Pacora that will create  6,000 jobs has received the go-ahead from the Cabinet Council.

The jobs would be for workers such as electricians and engineers says a government statement.

The zone will be operated by the Consorcio Industrial de las Americas, S.A.

Minister of Trade and Industry Augusto Arosemena  said that an investment of $230.5 million will be made in the free zone.Arosemena explained that $50.3 million will be for the initial phase of the infrastructure, and $180.2 million for “future investment.”

He said that 250 companies are expected to operate inside the zone.
