Black Friday, early opening, late closing

FOR THE FIFTH year, Panama City’s leading shopping malls opened at 6 qm on Friday Nov. 26 for the anticipated throng of Black Friday bargain hunters.

They were not disappointed although observers say the crowds were smaller than last year as many shoppers turned to on-line purchasing.

Multiplaza, Albrook, Altaplaza and Metro Mall all opened early

The Consumer Protection Authority said it is monitoring retailers to ensure they comply with advertised discounts.

Many malls are also   planning to stay  open late.

The Association of Shopping Centers said the date of Black Friday in 2017 might be changed to earlier in

the year.
