Move to get $3 million nonpayment case dismissed
LAWYERS for former Cocle governor Richard Fifer are trying to get charges dismissed for non payment of $3 million for workers’ Social Security
The workers were at Petaquilla Gold, the mining company of which he was the legal representative.
Tomás Góndola, a lawyer for Fifer introduced a dismissal motion at a hearing on Wednesday September 14 that his client was not the legal representative of the company when the payments, were not made.
Gondola indicated that there are records proving this.
The motion was opposed by both prosecutors and officials from Social Security.
The audience began at 9 a.m. Fifer is barred from leaving the country.
