Police save 600 pounds turtle

A 600P0UNDS (272 kilos)  turtle caught in a fishing net  was rescued by police north of the river Guázaro in province of Veraguas on the weekend

The rescue of the leatherback turtle species took place on Saturday morning June18  and the video of the operation was released on  Monday  through the official Facebook of the National Police.

According to the World Wildlife Fund for Nature (WWF), leatherback turtles can grow to 1.80 meters and weigh up to 100 thousand pounds (500 kilos). This species is the largest in the world and the largest living reptiles.
