Ex- Social Security boss trial adjourned.

THE PRELIMINARY hearing relating to an investigation into alleged irregularities in the rental of premises by the Social Security Fund (CSS), was suspended on Thursday May 19 when one of thelawyers involved  produced a medical certificate.

The hearing in the 12th Criminal Court was over the rental of office space for $36,800 a month for three years in a shopping mall. The space was allegedly never occupied/

Called to the hearing were Guillermo Sáez-Llorens, former director of Social Security and Maggiori Alberto Toledano, former Director of Financial  Administration Finance CSS. Also facing trial are  Indira Frauca de Afú, ex CSS architect and  and Lineth Monterreyex  Director of Engineering and Support Service, respectively, of the CSS.

All four have the precautionary measure of country jail.

Sáez-Llorens is also faces charges in another case related to bribes paid to the CSS by a multinational  company, whose representative has already been jailed in the US.

The case followed  a complaint filed by Pedro Montanez, who alleged anomalies in rent by the CSS in the El Cruce  shopping Plaza  in Juan Diaz, owned by Irnico, S.A.
