Panamas Olympic hope wins first outing
ALONSO EDWARD Panama’s best medal hope at the upcoming Olympic Games, less than 100 days away, coasted to an easy win in his first 200 meters of the year at the National Training Center Spring Invitational in Clermont, Florida, on Saturday April 30.
Edward recorded of 20.11 secs, , currently the world’s fourth fastest time.
Edward is already qualified for the Olympic Games in Rio 2016, where the minimum mark for 200 meters is 20.50
Edward is now focused on his next pre Olympiad competition, on Friday May 6 in Doha, Qatar, in the first event of the International Athletics Association Diamond League tournament.
