Deputies facing Supreme Court probe
CD DEPUTY and former National Assemby president “Chello” Sergio Galvez, is facing a Supreme Court investigation for the alleged irregular purchase of bags of grain through the defunct National Support Program (PAN) in the past government.
Gálvez, who has extended his stay at the assembly feeding trough as a skillful political party hopper, is also renowned for his distribution of tax funded goodies, like hams and turkeys to constituents in Chorillo and his public claims to being a “sexual buffalo”
Judge Jose Ayu Prado, who was appointed as a prosecutor has asked the Public Ministry for documents of investigations for alleged irregularities in contracts for the purchase of bags of rice and other products which were then distributed by some deputies.
In another case, Ayu Prado is investigating the buying of grains through the PAN by CD deputy Vidal Garcia.
The processes were initiated when the First Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office sent to the Supreme Court on March 4, documents that mentioned Galvez and Garcia and links to the alleged irregularities.
The research conducted by the Public Ministry is in the final phase. So far 60 people, including officials of the Martinelli administration have been charged
The possible injury to the State was calculated by the Comptroller at $12.3 million.
