IFF: Free screenings for retirees, students
Panama’S International Film Festival is in count down (it kicks off on April 7) and the news get’s better by the day.
Not only is there a feast of top class movies, all with English dubbing, or sub titles, but even Free performances.
They range from outdoor showings on the Cinta Costera, to screenings in the air-conditioned comfort of the Balboa Theatre for retirees and students. You just need to show your ID (cedula or passport), on Friday April 8.Monday 11, Tuesday 12, and Wednesday 13.
In previous editions of IFF Panama, 40% of the audience has enjoyed free projections, as well as activities of the Educational Program
The films that come under this promotion are:
Taxi: Filmed entirely from the dashboard of a taxi, the latest film by Jafar Panahi, winner of the Golden Bear at the Berlinale 2015, is an ingenious exercise of subversion, which blurs the boundaries between fiction and documentary, and it works as a complex and inclusive portrait of the current Tehran.Projection: Friday, April 8, 2:00 pm
My mother: Passing subtly from melancholy to the witty imprint of the director, the new work by the Italian master Nanni Moretti (The Son’s Room) tells the story of a filmmaker who uses a tense working environment for not cope with the illness of his mother. My mother candidly explores the difficulties of balancing the multiple responsibilities that come with middle age. Projection: Monday, April 11, 3:00 p.m.
