National Park forest fire

INACCESIBILITY  is hampering the efforts of firefighters to control a forest  fire that started on Saturday night  in Altos de Campana National Park in  Panama West

About nine hectares in the area were destroyed  by two forest fires earlier this year according to the Ministry of the Environment.

It was reported  in the village of Zorah de Chame and the Fire Department of Panama and , voluntary units were called to control the fire.

Olmedo Cornejo, Panama Fire commander director  in Panama West sais that it was impossible to continue the work of extinction due to the inaccessibility of  the terrain.
