Emergency water delivery in La Chorrera
HOSPITALS, health centers and schools in La Chorrera began receiving emergency deliveries of water from Panama’s Water and Sewer Agency (IDAAN) on Thursday March 17.
Idaan officials said t he decision was made due to problems at the Mendoza water treatment plant, which has been out of service since Wednesday.
The Panama Canal Authority, which operates the plant, said that it expected the plant to be operating at 75 percent capacity later in the day.
Ministry of Education officials said that classes wer suspended in Juan Demostenes Arosemena and Arraijan.
Principals at other schools made the decision individually whether or not to hold classes.
The Trapichito plant, which supplies some parts of La Chorrera with 10 million gallons of water a day, wass operating normally.
