Panama road death toll hits 87
CARNAGE on Panama’s highways continued unabated on the weekend with eight deaths in traffic incidents across the country bringing the total for the year to 87 with scores injured, many of them in accidents involving buses, including unlicensed pirate operators.
José Pineda, a spokesman for the traffic division of the National Police, confirmed the latest death count 87 in 66 days. have been killed in accidents so far this year.
The latest victim was a person involved in an accident on the bridge in front of the Panama City Seafood Market. That incident is under investigation.
