Costa Rican helped funnel bribes to Panama top judge
A COSTA RICAN businessman served as an intermediary for jailed former Supreme Court Judge Alejandro Moncada Luna to get money from companies that benefited from judiciary contracts, when the judge was president of the Court.
Prosecutors have determined that Claudio Poma, fleeing an Interpol arrest warrant facilitated access for Moncada Luna to the funds given to the Corporation Cubemu, SA, Sarelen companies Corporation, SA and Luxol Corporation, S.A.
That money, according to court documents came from contracts awarded by Moncada Luna for the execution of works in the judiciary at the time he was chief magistrate.
Moncada Luna is in the El Renacer prison serving five years for illegal enrichment and falsifying documents when he was president of the Court.
Poma, according to judicial sources, was in the circle of trust of Ricky Ricardo Calvo a member of the Ricardo Marinelli inner circle and , a personal friend of Moncada Luna. Calvo has fled Panama
