Oderbrecht paid for CD presidential campaign guru

 

FORMER CD campaign gurus, João Santana and his wife, Monica Moura, hired to run the presidential bid of José Domingo Arias in the 2009 election campaign, have admitted to Brazilian prosecutors that that three of the more than seven million dollars they received for their services in Panama, Venezuela, Argentina and Angola, came from Odebrecht.

Odebrecht received billions of dollars in payments from the CD administration under Ricardo Martinelli.

The news was carried in the Brazilian publications    Folha and Veja  on Feb 25.
The couple were in tthe Dominican Republic working on a campaign to re-elect the current president, when an  international arrest warrant was issued.

The defense contends that the resources received from Odebrecht abroad were legal payments

Meanwhile, La Prensa called Martinelli  in Miami and he hung up after hearing the voice of the journalist.

He was left a message asking if he had received donations from Odebrecht.

La Prensa also tried to locate Domingo Arias, who through a Caprice company employee said there would no statements.
