42 cases of H1N1 in Chiriqui, and anti-zita alert
CHIRIQUI province is facing a double health alert as the number of people with H1N1 influenza climbs to 42 cases of H1N1 flu, with three deaths recorded and three patients in intensive care. Health officials have puy out a call to the population to follow the proper precautions.
The medical director of the Ministry of Health (MoH) , Augustine Saldana said
Saldaña said surveillance, vaccination and prevention activities will continue in the border area of Paso Canoa and Baru.
People are urged to practice consistent hand washing, cover their mouths when coughing and avoid crowded places.
Regarding the Zika virus, Saldaña said it is important for people to keep their homes clean so to avoid the breeding of the Aedes aegypti,mosquito, the transmitter of the virus.
