Medical workers strike on hold
NURSING technicians who gathered in the Cathedral Plaza in Casco Viejo to demand a wage increase on Saturday January 9, have suspended a planned walk out set to begin on Monday.
The technician’s had called an indefinite strike, claiming that the Ministry of Health and Social Security failed to uphold an agreement signed in November.
However, , after the meeting, it was agreed that they would suspend the measure, to reach an agreement with the health authorities, said union representative Jorge Pérez.
He said they had received an informal proposal from the Ministry of Health. that will be evaluated, but he warned that the union remains on alert, and could call the strike if an official proposal is not received by Wednesday, as promised.
