Korean sculpture for Panama
A SIX-METER tall sky blue work “The “Greetingman” by Korean sculptor Yoo Young-ho, will be unveiled in Panama this month reports the South Korean news agency Yonhap News .
The work, which symbolizes “hope among countries,” according to the news agencywill be the second unveiling in Latin America, of a series of sculptures to be located at various points on the planet. The project premiered in Montevideo in 2012.
It will stand at the Chanis entrance to the Corridor Sur.
The statue is of a man with head bowed, and will be installed next week by the 51-year-old sculptor himself., “The statue shows the humble appearance of the Korean greeting to the people across the world, with the intention of communicating a message of unity,” he told Korean media .
It is expected that the statue, which was shipped to the isthmus from the port of Busan in November will be visible to the public on January 20.
