‘Dream come true’ wins story contest
A SIXTEEN-YEAR-OLD high school student from David, Chiriqui has won the third edition of the Latin American story contest “The future in our hands”, with his entry “A dream come true”
Noriel Antonio Lopez managed to impress a jury that reviewed 2061 entries from 18 countries in a contest for students 6to 18 years organized by the Mapfre Foundation and the Organization of Ibero-American States (OEI) .
“I wanted to present a simple and easy to understand work, taking into account a concept that seemed important to stress: extreme poverty,” said Lopez, who under the pseudonym silver inkwell, tells the story of Carlos and his dreams for the Ñopo Llano family, in the Ngobe Bugle .
Lopez, is a year IV student at the Chiriqui Institute his story was created in two days Lopez was the winner in the national and regional categories of secondary level, accompanied by the girl Francheska Lopez of Santa Marta Bilingual School, who with the story “The neighborhood with no future”, won a national award in the primary segment .
